COMPOSER

"Chris Passey’s debut album, Self Taught, Still Learning, is a rare treat of musical theatre-based songs that are very pleasant to the ear yet never pander to overstated self-indulgence and never slip into the realms of musical or lyrical cliché."
Broadway World

My writing career began when i wrote a few songs that grabbed the attention and imagination of some of the biggest West End and Broadway performers of the time.

My debut album, 'Self Taught:Still Learning' went to number 2 in the Amazon Broadway charts and was a best-seller at the legendary Dress Circle where we held an album launch

Since then, I have written and arranged for schools, choirs, new work and am working on several projects and commissions.

My songs have been performed all over the world in concerts and cabarets. I co-wrote 'Stagey & Proud' which was written for and originally performed by Chloe Hart.

Award-winning actress Sheridan Smith chose this song to perform at the What's On Stage Awards in the West End

In collaboration with my brother Nigel, we were commissioned by Brilliant Theatre Arts to write the music and score for a re-telling of the classic tale, Beauty & the Beast. Performed in 2019 at the Alban Arena, there are plans in motion now for a cast recording.

My song-writing and arranging skills were called upon recently by Broadway and West End legend Marisha Wallace who used by choir vocal arrangement of 'This Is Me' on her recent smash-hit UK Tour.

Writing allows me the freedom to express my emotions, thoughts and feelings and - just sometimes - help someone else do the same.

In 2019, Sunday Night Socials approached me and we set about planning An Evening with Chris Passey & Friends. The Union Theatre in London was sold-out and it was an incredible night.

Keep an eye on the news for updates regarding the new writing projects and future releases with Space Kid Records.

My songs are available in sheet music and can be purchased soon.
